OUR PURPOSE

The St. Charles County Council of the Blind is a diverse group of younger and older blind and sighted people that exists to provide support and guidance to blind people.  If you have lost all or part of your vision, we can help you to adjust to a new life style.  You will learn new skills and relearn old skills to give you the an exciting opportunity for a successful, satisfying and independent life style.

A blind person doesn't have to be a burden on family and friends.  With the right education and training to help you adapt to your new lifestyle, you will gain independence and enjoy a rich, full life.

The St. Charles County Council of the Blind is an affiliate of the Missouri Council of the Blind and the American Council of the Blind.  Membership in our organization carries with it membership in the two parent organizations.

Available on request is the Missouri Chronicle, a quarterly publication of the Missouri Council of the Blind.  It is free and can be obtained in large print, Braille, by email, or on cassette.

The St. Charles County Council of the Blind and The Missouri Council of the Blind encourage members to actively support blindness legislation and issues and act as support groups for the newly blinded young people as well as for the older blind.
